ABOUT ME
In my years at WRTI, I interviewed a wide range of leading artists, including conductors and composers: Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Sir Simon Rattle, Wynton Marsalis, Marin Alsop, Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, Christoph Eshenbach, Hannibal Lokumbe, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Jennifer Higdon, Donald Nally, John Adams, Valerie Coleman, Mason Bates; instrumentalists and vocalists: Yo-Yo Ma, Lang Lang, Itzhak Perlman, Sarah Chang, Hélène Grimaud, Sheku Kanneh-Mason, Sharon Isbin, André Watts, Mark O’Connor, Angel Blue, Lawrence Brownlee, and Jason Vieaux; groundbreaking ensembles, including Imani Winds, PRISM Quartet, LA Guitar Quartet, Eighth Blackbird, and The Crossing; and people from the world of literature, theater and fine arts, including architect Frank Gehry, actors Dulé Hill, Anna Deavere Smith, and the late playwrights Terry Teachout and Terrence McNally.
I wrote many stories about music and the arts for WRTI, and produced and was host of WRTI’s TIME IN online interview series. I also hosted WRTI’s Live from the Performance Studio sessions, and produced The Philadelphia Orchestra in Concert series' weekly broadcasts.
I came to radio with a background in journalism, speechwriting, and law, which I practiced in New York City; I also taught entertainment law at Rutgers Law School in Camden, New Jersey. A former freelance writer and columnist for Philadelphia Magazine, I've published the book Reinventing Ourselves after Motherhood and a book of essays titled, What is a Kiss, Anyway?
I'm now at work on essays about life's next chapter and continue to do interviews and stories on a variety of subjects. It's a big world out there!
